Porsche 911 GT3 RS Manthey Performance Kit at Porsche South Austin

From the track to the street - that's the slogan behind the development of Manthey performance packages for sportive car models from Porsche. Manthey-Racing offers individual solutions to increase the performance of cars for trackdays and driving Events.

911 GT3 RS Manthey Performance Kit

The Manthey kit for the 911 GT3 RS (type 991 II) represents a collaborative effort between the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach and Manthey-Racing GmbH. Through meticulous coordination of chassis, aerodynamics, and braking components, this partnership has achieved a remarkable feat: a refined enhancement of the already breathtaking performance of the 911 GT3 RS, precisely tailored to excel on track days and at enthusiast-driven tourist events.

To put it differently, in April 2021, Porsche works driver Kévin Estre achieved an impressive lap time of 6 minutes and 54.340 seconds while navigating the approximately 20.8-kilometer Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit. He accomplished this remarkable feat while driving a GT3 RS equipped with the same kit. This performance underscores the exceptional capabilities of both the driver and the vehicle on the challenging "Green Hell" track.

Aerodynamics Package

The vehicle's downforce has been significantly enhanced through the incorporation of various components. These include additional air baffle elements positioned around the front wheels, the integration of flaps on the front apron, and the introduction of a new carbon rear wing. To further optimize aerodynamics, carbon Aerodiscs have been applied to the rear wheels, mitigating turbulent airflow and boosting overall aerodynamic efficiency.

To accommodate the increased aero load generated by the rear wing, the rear of the vehicle has undergone substantial reinforcement. Notably, the rear wing is directly affixed to the vehicle's body through specialized supports, a departure from the configuration in the GT3 RS without the Manthey Kit, where the wing is connected to the rear lid.

The rigorous testing and refinement of this aerodynamic package were conducted in the state-of-the-art wind tunnel in Weissach. This facility remains at the forefront of its kind, boasting a massive eight-meter-diameter blower equipped with lightweight carbon blades capable of generating wind speeds of up to 180 mph (300 km/h) within the test area, ensuring precise and comprehensive aerodynamic assessments.

Coilover Suspension

The development of the coilover suspension drew upon the collective expertise and technological insights garnered by both Porsche and Manthey over their extensive years of involvement in GT racing. On the front axle, an upside-down McPherson strut design is utilized. Notably, the spring strut boasts a casing tube crafted from high-strength aluminum, ensuring dependable and long-lasting wheel guidance, even under the rigorous conditions of the racetrack.

This advanced suspension system incorporates three-way shock absorbers, complemented by aluminum support bearings that facilitate straightforward adjustment of camber values at the front axle. The adjustment of rebound stages, both at low and high speeds, is conveniently achieved through the external reservoir's adjustment wheels, all without the need for specialized tools. Similarly, the compression stage can be finely tuned via an adjustment wheel located at the lower end of the shock absorber housing.

For vehicles equipped with a standard front-axle lift system, this functionality is fully preserved. On the rear axle, an aluminum spring strut takes center stage. The four-way adjustable shock absorbers, encompassing compression and rebound stages at both low and high speeds, are directly customizable using the adjustment wheels on the shock absorber housing, eliminating the requirement for additional tools.

The foundational configuration of these high-performance chassis components was meticulously honed through extensive testing on international racetracks, with particular emphasis on the challenging Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit. Engineers from Porsche and Manthey collaborated diligently to achieve a finely tuned suspension system that delivers exceptional performance and handling characteristics.

Brake Line Set with Steel Sheathing

The inclusion of a brake line set with steel sheathing enhances pedal feedback, resulting in quicker response times. These kit components have undergone rigorous testing and refinement by Manthey on the challenging Nürburgring-Nordschleife.

For vehicles equipped with the ceramic braking system (PCCB), an optional racing brake pad is available (part numbers: 991 044 806 36, 991 044 806 37). This upgrade significantly improves fading resistance while enhancing responsiveness and control. The brake pad is distinguished by its consistent friction performance across a wide temperature range and exceptional wear resistance, all while minimizing disc corrosion.

Upgraded Wheel Set

If not already installed on the vehicle, the GT3 RS Manthey Kit is only available in conjunction with the 20/21-inch GT3 RS wheel set or the 20/21-inch GT2 RS magnesium wheel set, the latter having a weight advantage of 11.4 kg (without tires, valves or Tire Pressure Monitoring sensor).

The 20/21-inch GT3 RS wheel set is available in the following paint finishes:

- Black (satin-gloss)

- Aurum (satin-gloss)

The 20/21-inch GT2 RS magnesium wheel set is available in the following paint finishes:

- Brilliant Silver

- Black (satin-gloss)

- Aurum (satin-gloss)

- White Gold Metallic (satin-gloss)

- Platinum (satin-gloss)

The wheel sets are suitable for the corresponding tire sizes:

Front axle: 9.5 J x 20 RO 50 with 265/35 ZR 20 (99Y) XL tires

Rear axle: 12.5 J x 21 RO 48 with 325/30 ZR 21 (108Y) XL tires

Porsche recommends using Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.

Please note: The individual components of the 911 GT3 RS Manthey kit are precisely tailored to one another. For this reason, they may only be installed together on the vehicle. Available individual offers are shown separately. Contact your authorized Porsche dealer for further information.
